The University of North Carolina was chartered in 1789 and opened its doors for students in 1795 as the nation’s first public university. Situated in the beautiful college town of Chapel Hill, N.C., UNC has earned a reputation as one of the best universities in the world.

A 3rd Generation RoboThespian was installed in the Computer Science Department at the University of North Carolina as a research and demonstration tool. This RoboThespian has not only participated in the UNC Science Expo of 2012, he has also gone back to his acting roots, performing in the Commedia dell’Arte play, “Servant of Two Masters”. This modern staging was performed with a human actor and RoboThespian, as well as using motion-capture and 3-D animation. Collaborators include faculty from the dramatic art and computer science departments.
